Roundtable Meetings Discuss Sexual Violence as it Affects Different Populations

On June 28th and July 16th providers from around the state in the fields of sexual violence, developmental disabilities, and children's health and welfare met to discuss barriers and challenges as well as options and successes when working to prevent and respond to survivors in these populations.  Attendees worked on providing a statewide landscape of the work being done in these fields.  There was frank discussion of where the breakdowns are currently, as well as where and how we are successfully working together.  Participants wrapped up with priorities for the state moving forward.  The Ohio Alliance will be using this roundtable as a jumping point to move forward in supporting our constituents regarding these issues.

Award Presented to Dan Stewart

The National Sexual Violence Resource Center (NSVRC) and Ohio Alliance to End Sexual Violence (Ohio Alliance) are pleased to announce the Ohio recipient of the 2010 Visionary Voice Award. This award, offered in conjunction with Sexual Assault Awareness Month each April, recognizes the creativity and hard work of individuals around the country who have demonstrated outstanding advocacy and community work to end or prevent sexual violence.  The Ohio Recipent, nominated by the Ohio Alliance, is Rep. Dan Stewart.  Rep. Stewart was nominated for this award for his important work on HB 333, known as the Compassionate Assistance for Rape Emergencies (CARE) Bill.
