Join OAESV in welcoming Representatives Erica Crawley and Juanita O. Brent on Monday, July 13 from 1:00-3:00 for a panel discussion on HCR 31, the Resolution Declaring Racism a Public Health Crisis, the sponsor's goals and strategies, and plans for future action after passage.

Representative Erica C. Crawley represents Ohio’s 26th House District and brings a wealth of advocacy experience to the Ohio House of Representatives, having worked on behalf of children and families as a Court Appointed Special Advocate for Children (CASA), and in positions with the YWCA Head Start/Early Start Program and the Black Child Development Institute. Rep. Crawley served in the U.S. Navy, and holds a J.D. and M.P.A. Erica’s legislative priorities have focused on maternal health, infant mortality, birth-to-five initiatives, housing and food insecurity, and veteran’s issues. Erica serves on the House Finance Committee, Finance Subcommittee on Primary & Secondary Education, Primary & Secondary Committee, Armed Services & Veterans Affairs, Correctional Institution Inspection Committee (CIIC), and was appointed to the Governor’s Commission on Infant Mortality, the Commission on Minority Health and is a founding member of Ohio’s Black Maternal Health Caucus.

Representative Juanita O. Brent represents Ohio's 12th House District. Long active in Cuyahoga County communities, Representative Juanita Brent is a former board of trustees member for the Health Care Service Corporation, the largest consumer-owned health insurer in the country. Representative Brent has extensive experience in community development and organizing, and currently sits on the board of the Harvard Community Services Center’s Lee-Harvard Community Development Center. Representative Brent maintains focus on providing women and families with access to affordable, quality health care.
